Vocational Education: International Strategies for Achieving Effectiveness On April 12, 2025, an international conference on the topic “Skills for the Future: Strategies to Achieve Effectiveness in Vocational Education” was held within the framework of the VET4UZ project, “Supporting Vocational Education Reforms in Uzbekistan.” The event was organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation, the Project Office of the Education Projects Center, the Tourism Committee, and HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation. The event took place at the Hyatt Regency Hotel in Tashkent and brought together representatives of public administration bodies, vocational education institutions, employers, and international experts. Through plenary and breakout sessions, dialogues were organized between representatives of the public and private sectors on a number of topics, including governance of vocational education, improving the quality of vocational education, public–private partnerships in dual education, and enhancing the professional capacity of educators. At the opening ceremony, alongside a group of international experts and organizational leaders, the Director of the Project Office “Center for Projects in the Education Sector,” A. Khudaykulov, shared his views. He presented several analyses and proposals on the importance of vocational education for the country’s economy and the need to establish effective system management based on international experience, placing special emphasis on issues aimed at discussing strategic reforms in the field of vocational education. In addition, N. Ergashev, Head of a team at the Project Office “Center for Projects in the Education Sector,” participated in a breakout session with a presentation on “The Principle of Public–Private Partnership in Dual/Vocational Education.” Employees of the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System also took part in the event, sharing their views on the development of professional standards and the assessment of qualifications based on employer requirements in the design of vocational education programs. During the conference, participants received answers to their questions and gained information about ongoing changes and future plans in the vocational education system.
