Dec. 3, 2025

The city of Turin has now become an important platform for dialogue and cooperation for Central Asian countries. Within the framework of the European Union’s “DARYA” project, a regional seminar-training aimed at improving the professional qualifications system, scheduled for December 2–4, 2025, is currently underway.

The event brings together major employers, education sector specialists, and international experts, who are engaging in substantive discussions and practical experience exchange.

The Uzbekistan delegation, consisting of representatives from the Institute for the Development of the National Qualification System and sectoral councils, actively participates in all seminar sessions.

On the first day of the seminar, the results of a pilot project on developing regional occupational standards carried out by Central Asian countries were presented. Within the project, occupational profiles (standards) were developed in the following priority areas:

  • Tourism;

  • Construction;

  • Transport and logistics.

These standards are intended to contribute to the formation of a unified qualification requirements system for all Central Asian countries in the future. This approach allows for the improvement of national occupational standards, alignment of curricula with professional standards, and the ability to compare qualifications at the regional level.

The meeting also provided important information on alignment with the ESCO (European Skills, Competences and Occupations) system developed by the European Commission, qualification integration processes, and the development of common competency maps for occupational fields.

Learning from the experience of Italy and France
Seminar participants have the opportunity to closely study the mechanisms for developing, approving, and implementing occupational and qualification standards in Italy and France.

Delegation members also visited vocational training centers and regional educational institutions in the Piedmont region to gain first-hand experience of practical training processes.

A new stage of regional cooperation
The seminar, organized within the “DARYA” project, is expected to strengthen cooperation among Central Asian countries in the following areas:

  • Harmonizing qualification recognition systems;

  • Developing modern competencies aligned with labor market needs;

  • Experience exchange;

  • Increasing regional labor mobility.

This project is recognized as an important regional platform that not only supports the modernization of the vocational qualification system but also directly contributes to the economic stability of Central Asian countries, ensures employment, and enhances the potential of the labor force.
