March 7, 2026
On March 7 of this year, a summary meeting was held to review the results of the week-long visit of experts from the German Federal Institute for Vocational Education and Training (BIBB). During the meeting, a presentation was delivered on the results of the analysis of the current state of the Vocational Education and Training (VET) system in Uzbekistan. The analysis highlighted the need to further develop the dual education system and to ensure closer integration of the educational process with practical training at workplaces. It was also emphasized that these initiatives should be developed in alignment with the National Qualifications System of Uzbekistan. In particular, when implementing dual education, it is important to utilize occupational standards, conduct skills analyses across sectors, involve the private sector, and ensure integration with initiatives aimed at strengthening professional capacity. Furthermore, representatives of GIZ and BIBB, together with national partner organizations, proposed a development plan for further improving the dual education system. Within the framework of this plan, close cooperation is envisaged with the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System, the Agency for Vocational Education, Sector Skills Councils, and the Helvetas organization.
