International cooperation in the development of the national qualification system

On November 5, 2025, another meeting was held jointly by the Institute for the Development of the National Qualifications System and UNESCO. The meeting was attended by UNESCO expert Dana Stroie and the Institute’s leadership, during which comprehensive discussions were held on the development of the national qualifications system in Uzbekistan, the activities of sectoral councils for professional qualifications, and the development of regulatory and normative documents.

During the meeting, a number of practical initiatives carried out in collaboration with UNESCO and international experts were acknowledged. It was also highlighted that the Institute has established effective connections at every level of the system through local and international seminars, trainings, and events.

During the discussion, the parties exchanged views on accelerating steps to improve the qualification system, enhancing information exchange, and taking cooperation with UNESCO to a new level, proposing a number of recommendations and initiatives.

Dana Stroie noted that the stages of assessing professional qualifications, developing standards, and integrating them into the labor market in Uzbekistan are developing in harmony with international experience. She emphasized that the ongoing reforms are among the most advanced in the region and represent an important area of cooperation for UNESCO.

This meeting served as an important step in continuing cooperation with UNESCO, contributing to the strengthening of international recognition of reforms in ensuring the quality of education and professional qualifications in Uzbekistan.
