Cooperation between Uzbekistan and Turkey in the Qualification Systems

On November 17, a delegation of staff from the Institute for the Development of the National Qualification System visited the Turkish Vocational Qualification Authority (Mesleki Yeterlilik Kurumu – MYK), which has extensive experience in the qualification system. On the first day of the visit, a meeting was held between MYK Chairman Aşkın Tören and the Institute Director A. Allabergenov. It was specially noted that this meeting is a continuation of the effective work and friendly relations initiated by the leaders of the two countries and represents an important first step in cooperation within the qualification system.

During the meeting, the MYK Director provided information on the current state of Turkey’s qualification system. In particular, it was emphasized that Turkey has developed 937 occupational standards and 694 national qualification standards, and 267 qualification assessment centers are operational. Additionally, MYK highlighted that qualification certificates have been issued to 3.2 million applicants to date.

During the meeting, the Institute Director presented a presentation on practical processes carried out within Uzbekistan’s National Qualification System. The presentation provided participants with information about sectoral councils, the process of developing occupational standards, as well as the Institute’s results and strategic plans, followed by an exchange of opinions.
