On January 28 of this year, a coordination meeting of the project “Support for the Reform and Modernization of the Vocational Education and Training System in Uzbekistan (TexVET II)”, implemented by the German International Cooperation Organization (GIZ), was held at the Courtyard by Marriott Tashkent hotel in Tashkent. Within the framework of the meeting, the key results achieved during the first phase of the TexVET project were presented, and the priority areas planned for the second phase (2026–2028) were discussed. During the event, special attention was paid to expanding vocational education opportunities across sectors, current challenges and future prospects related to dual education, as well as improving the methodology for developing occupational standards, strengthening the activities of sector councils, and developing skills aligned with labor market needs. In addition, an interactive workshop aimed at identifying solutions to challenges in dual education and the national qualifications system was conducted with the active participation of the meeting attendees. These sessions contributed to enhancing the professional competencies of sector council members and experts.
